Ashley Wilburn, Attorney Spotlight offers compassionate Family Law Services

THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's law practice is focused on family law. She has a passion for it. She concentrates her practice on divorce cases, alimony issues marital property division, child custody battles and child support arrangements. She also handles post-divorce enforcement and post-divorce issues, step-parent adoptions and private adoptions at parties as and concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley has served a court-appointed mediator since 2019 helping parties to help them settle their disputes without needing to litigate or court involvement. In addition to mediations arranged by the court, Ashley also mediates in private cases for people who would like to avoid the court process and litigation.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she received dual bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was placed among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was an Editor of the Notes at the Western New England Law Review during her time at law school. This demonstrates her dedication to scholarship and research in the field of law.

Ashley began her clerkship path after completing her law degree. She worked for distinguished jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She had the privilege of being a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. Subsequently, in 2014 she returned to her hometown of Hagerstown to be a clerk for Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. The primary role she played at the firm was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases concerning child welfare. Ashley's tireless efforts played a significant role in helping children who suffered neglect or abuse at children's parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social injustice was not limited to her legal career when she was an active member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to educate the public about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law including divorce custody, child support and guardianships as well as estate planning - wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy and mediation.

Ashley created Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023 with the goal of providing a customized approach to each client's need.
